Who's behind this comparison, and how it's funded
Reel Briefcase compares UK-licensed online casinos for a living. We don't run games, we don't hold player funds, and we're not owned by or affiliated with any operator we cover — this page sets out exactly how the site works.
Independent by design
Reel Briefcase is a comparison and information resource, not a casino. We hold no gambling licence because we don't need one: nobody places a bet through this site, no account is opened here, and no money changes hands between a reader and us. What we do is research publicly available information about UK-licensed operators — game libraries, live-casino provision, mobile and app quality, support channels — and put it side by side so a reader can compare it in one place instead of ten open tabs.
That independence extends to ownership. Reel Briefcase is not owned by, and has no editorial arrangement with, any of the operators listed on this site. Being listed here does not mean an operator has paid for coverage, and a reader clicking through does not change the score an operator receives.
How we get paid
Running a comparison site costs money — research time, hosting, keeping information current — and Reel Briefcase covers that through affiliate commission. When a reader clicks through to an operator from this site and opens an account, we may receive a referral payment. It costs the reader nothing extra on top of what they'd pay going direct, and it's the same commercial model used by most independent comparison publishers, in gambling and well beyond it. We think that arrangement only works if it's disclosed plainly, which is why it appears on the homepage, in the footer of every page, and here again rather than being buried in small print.
How we choose what to compare
Every operator on this site is checked against the same eight criteria, set out in full on the homepage's methodology section: UKGC licensing, game range, live casino, mobile app quality, game studios, welcome offer type, customer support, and overall usability. We weight mobile and app performance more heavily than most comparison sites do, because for the majority of readers a phone is now the primary way they'd interact with any of these operators, not an afterthought to a desktop visit.
Scores are editorial judgements based on publicly available information at the time of review, not automated feeds, and not guarantees about how an operator will behave in future. Terms, game libraries and app quality can all change after publication, which is why we note a last-updated date on the homepage and encourage readers to verify current terms directly with the operator before signing up.
Who this site is and isn't for
This site is for UK adults aged 18 and over who are already considering an online casino and want a plain, comparative read on a handful of licensed options before choosing one. It is not a guide to making money — gambling carries a built-in cost over time by design, and nothing here should be read as suggesting otherwise.
