What affiliate marketing is
Affiliate marketing is a common arrangement where a publisher links to a business, and if a reader takes an action after clicking — here, opening an account with an operator — the business pays the publisher a referral fee. It's used across comparison sites, review publications and price-comparison tools far beyond gambling, and it's how most independent comparison content gets funded without charging readers directly.
How Reel Briefcase participates
Every operator link on this site marked as a call-to-action (typically labelled "Visit [Operator]") includes a tracking parameter appended to the web address. That parameter tells the operator the visit came from Reel Briefcase, so they can pay us a commission if you go on to open an account. These links use rel="sponsored" in the underlying code, which is the standard technical way of marking a paid or affiliate relationship to search engines.
What this means for you
Clicking a tracked link and signing up costs you nothing beyond what you'd pay going to the operator directly — the commission comes from the operator's own marketing budget, not from any markup applied to you. It also doesn't grant us access to your account or any information about what you do after you land on the operator's site.
Editorial independence
Scores and descriptions on this site are based on our own research against the eight criteria set out in our methodology — UKGC licensing, game range, live casino, mobile app, game studios, welcome offer type, customer support and usability. Being an affiliate partner does not raise an operator's score, and declining a partnership does not lower it. Where our editorial judgement and commercial interest might appear to overlap — for instance, ordering within the comparison — we've been explicit in the copy about how that ordering was decided, so nothing is left implicit.
